Germs & Virus

Best Solutions for Germs & Viruses

Bacteria can be as small as 0.3 microns and viruses are even smaller. Bacteria and viruses can be spread by touch, but they can also remain airborne and spread in the air. There are three main air purifier technologies that can effectively deal with these microbes.

The first of these technologies is the most researched, widely used and considered the most effective regarding air purifiers. This filtration technology is called HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance or High Efficiency Particulate Air). Medical Grade H13 HEPA filters with a 100% airtight seal, have a rated removal efficiency of 99.97% @ 0.3 micron particle size. Note that H13 HEPA can filter particles larger than 0.3 micron and can also filter particles right down to 0.003 micron which makes them fully capable of effectively capturing viruses.

The remaining two technologies are UV-C light and plasma-Ion (Also known as Plasma Wave or Plasma Cluster). Some Air Purifiers today combine cheaper or lower grade HEPA with either the UV-C or Plasma Ion technologies to effectively deal with germs and microbes.

You may also be experiencing higher than average humidity levels within your home that can help certain germs and other microbes such as mould and mildew to thrive. In a situation of high humidity, a dehumidifier would be a good idea to reduce moisture.

Depending on your situation, Air purifiers and Dehumidifiers can be used quite effectively together.

We highly recommend InovaAir air purifiers for the current pandemic situation, as they have high quality, large H13 medical grade HEPA filtration with a 100% airtight seal that has been tested with an ISO certified MET ONE laser particle counter.
