Best Solutions for Germs

Bacteria can be as small as 0.3 microns and viruses are even smaller. These types of germs can spread by touch but they can also be spread in the air. There are three main air purifier technologies that can effectively deal with these microbes. These technologies are Medical Grade HEPA filters that are rated to 99.97% @ 0.3 microns, UV-C light and plasma-Ion (Also known as  Plasma-Wave or Plasma Cluster). Some Air Purifiers today combine HEPA with either the UV-C or Plasma Ion technologies to effectively deal with germs.

You may also be experiencing higher than average humidity levels within your home that can help certain germs and other microbes such as mould and mildew to thrive. In a situation of high humidity a dehumidifier would be a good idea to reduce moisture.

Some Dehumidifiers also have an antimicrobial filter to clean the air.  Depending on your situation, Air purifiers and Dehumidifiers can be used quite effectively together.
